Driveway Stories

Bill Overton works as a contractor for Boeing and Lockheed at NASA in Houston as a video editor and Executive Support for secure video meetings. His background is in broadcast television, so he is a natural in his current role. His real passion is working on his car projects and writing short stories. He started out writing from his life experiences and observances. At last count he has 235 short stories on various subjects.
Bill is working on several novels and is close to finishing the first one called 'Best Friends'. The other novels in work is a Science Fiction called 'Terah' and a fiction based on facts called 'Towboat'.
Bill created a group on Facebook called Driveway Stories. He named it this because people would stop by while he is working on one of his car projects and they would all stand on his driveway telling their latest stories or reminiscing of the good ole days. Bill encourages other people to add their short stories on the Driveway Stories Facebook group. Through this group, members encouraged Bill to publish some of his work.
The first book Bill published through Amazon is called 'The Mystery Vette'.
High School in the mid 1970's meant the first generation of Muscle Cars. Joe was sort of a loner who has a passion for Hot Rodding his 1968 Camaro. He was always experimenting with new engine/transmission combos and testing out the latest build on the streets. High School could not be over soon enough to get to his garage for the afternoon. A new girl at the school has caught his eye. Will she even notice him? Will Joe build up enough courage to talk with her? Or will the Camaro demand all of his attention? There is a new Corvette on the street racing scene and no one knows who owns it. Follow Joe and his friend Danny as they prepare their cars to take on the Mystery Vette.

Bill's second book is called 'L'Abri, My Search for Faith'. In 1979 Bill backpacked through Europe alone for 100 days. He kept a daily journal of his adventure which was instrumental in writing this book. Several friends had died due to various accidents, so Bill set out on his journey to find answers for his life. There is a community in Huemoz Switzerland called L'Abri. L'Abri is French for The Shelter. Dr Francis and Edith Scheaffer started L'Abri in the 1950s as a Christian Community for those who were looking for answers in life. For Bill, he did find the answers he was looking for, answers that influence his life today.
Bill's parents encouraged him to write this book. As they were up in age, he published book with his parents in mind, which is why it has large print with the best paper stock and color images throughout. Bill plans to republish the book to downgrade the quality in order to lower the selling price.
